American world domination

Before, it used to be, ‘when france sneezes, europe catches a cold”, and when europe catches a cold, the world freezes!!!. the validity of this seems to be reduced today. In his new book, God and Gold, foreign affairs expert Walter Russell Mead argues that modern world history can be understood as the global application of a system of economics, religion, and culture developed and directed by the English-speaking peoples. From the time of Oliver Cromwell to the present, the British and the Americans, either individually or together, have won every major war, and have established a commercial and military dominance that remains the foundation of the modern world. “It is perhaps bad manners to say so,” Mead acknowledges, “but that does not make it less true.”

Mead addresses six questions which he believes can help us better understand and handle the problems and dangers that confront America today:

(1) What exactly is the agenda of the Anglo-Americans?
(2) Why have they been so consistently successful in their military and economic conflicts with other nations?
(3) How did they manage to build a global order?
(4) Why have they so frequently believed that their successes were about to give rise to a world of peace and prosperity?
(5) Why have they been wrong every single time?
(6) What is the meaning, significance, and future, of Anglo-American power?

Do you accept or resent (hate) american powerful grip on world affairs? Do you think they have ‘private agendas’ ?

i’m sometimes of the thinking, looking particulary at the current economic condition, that america has grown too strong, not only for the world, but too strong and complicated for ITSELF! (The financial crisis took the bush adminstration by surprise, and despite pumping in $700 million dollars,it seems the crisis is far from being solved) i’m i right to think so?

  1. the us would have hegemony over world affairs for a long time, but would have a reduced role in time to come, with nations increasing in both economic amd political strength

  2. Everybody,in one thing or the other seeks domination, and its no deny that the americans are on top now.like it or hate it,they would continue that domination for a very long time, and only unforseen circumstances might see the contrary.i’m ok with them, though it would be great if they tried to stop to have a very strong grip on all matters, and bush is not the president!
    yo eric,nice one.

  3. Countries around the globe would love to be in the american position, but i think the us under the bush administration acted in a rather solatary manner, which was negatively perceived by many people. the US( iraq and afghanistan), has got issues, it would be difficult for them, but i’m quite confident they would go through.

  4. Eric, today’s world is not about one country’s own strategy. It’s about the dog that is wagging his tale. Bear in mind the capital of United States is feeding by Jewish crowds.
We all know that oil has been traded by US$, and this fact has been affected the currency of United States. Let’s just compare the current value of $ with 5 months a go. At the time that price of oil was in its peak, the value of $ was too much lower than now and this fact was the advantage for the internal market of the States since they could export their products to the rest of the world by the cheaper offer. How about now? The price of oil has dropped, the value of their currency has gone up, while this “I cal it disaster happened, stupid “Alan Greenspan” has dropped the interest rates that could allow any body to buy the property regardless on how it would affect to the future of the government. Just try to picture it, every body is going under the debt of housing, the GDP has gone up, the demand push inflation occurred, and as the result price of property surged as public couldn’t afford to settle the bills, banks, started collapsing due to the budget deficits, price of oil dropped due to the drop of demand and the poor market trust, and briefly the value of $ has gone up and now nobody is going to buy their products and as the result euro is going to be appreciated among the markets and Europe will get the benefit out of this disaster. All I have said is just the overview on how politics play the dirty game to make the “so called tail” winner of the game!!! That is the private agenda behind of it, but it takes time we have to wait for the next 8 years. The “tail” have prepared and adopted the public’s mind sets to make the great change, “giving permission to access to the nuclear facility for the Middle East under the supervision of States” It is going to be the new version of colonial system. (Every body can have the nuclear facility but under the supervision of US, as Libya is showing the guide lines since 2 months a go)!!!

  5. Bardia, true what you said, its not about one country’s strategy, but lets face it, the American strategy is not only the dominant one, but the winning one.
You spoke about the American economy being ‘fed’ by the jews, but that’s not a reason for their success. Saudi Arabia generates more income per day than any country in this world, why isn’t it economically dominant? It’s not the jews that make coca cola the number one beverage in the world, or made the NBA players the most paid sportives, nor did they make hollywood the number movie industry. Every country plays some political game, tell me why at the end of the day,the US is almost always the winner? Is it that the world is too weak, or America is too strong?

  6. In this world at any given time there are leaders and there are those who are led. Currently America is in is the driving seat but in addition they are currently facing a huge financial crisis as a result of poor policies implemented under Bush’s administration. All countries worldwide are being affected by this and yes combined efforts by the IRC, the EU and BRIC will try and take over the dominance but in my opinion will fail. America is facing problems but that does not mean that while they are finding ways to alleviate the pressure they will forget about everything else. Every structure of America as a whole that enabled them to be where they are today, be it Military, Technological or whatever, is still present, ONLY WITH ISSUES TO RESOLVE. This task is now in the hands of Obama and I am confident he will deliver.

  7. AMERICA, currently the strongest economy globally and achieved this through making tough decisions and following through. Now they are faced with a pandemonium situation, which is not an easy task for anyone to resolve. They are a driven economy but through negligence displayed by Bush’s administration, may have to pay the price. With the new elect president, Obama in place, he is faced with the biggest challenge of all and that is to restore the American economy. Personally I think he has the ability to do so but may not do it in time cause other emerging groups are already pouncing on their slip-up and joined they may succeed. America may be forced to drop a notch in terms of political and economic dominance whether they like it or not. Not a pleasant fact but nevertheless a fact.

  8. Eric I do agree with you, but I got one question from you. If I ask you to choose a place to live and work for the entire of your life, do you choose the desert of Saudi Arabia and follow the strict rules defined by the Islamic system or you prefer to get the sun bath with your girl(s) near the San Jose’s nude beach and take Margarita and enjoy from your life in the San Francisco?!!! That’s the fact; the government which is giving you more freedom, democracy and respect on your own religion and believes is the target of yours. The same thing is occurred in Malaysia, you can hear the “Azan” of Muslims near the Strip bar in Kuala-Lumpur. This is democracy that has attracted you and me to come and spend our time. Now let’s just put our self in the shoes of reach Jews which have “wagged” the United States and as you and me know, if they withdrew their cash, the United States may not even survive for couple of seconds. Existence of huge land, giving respect to any religion and believes, providing high standards of living, concerned on the retirement pensions an so on are the key factors which have motivated any capitalist to migrate OR brain drain to the States. Do you know how much of geniuses are doing research in the top ranking universities of the States? Don’t you think these brains and cashes are not that enough to make the house of Uncle Sam the land of opportunity?!!! All I have said in the concise form are: democracy, providing elite education to any body regardless on his or her color and religion, huge land which gives opportunities and different climates. Isn’t that enough?!!!

  9. AMERICA. The good news was Obama won the election, but the biggest challenge for him as what Samn said is to restore the American economy. How well can he carry his duties, it is ought to be seen.
America has been the world dominator in economy for quite some time. With the current recession taking place, and with the bailout on a few organisations in America by their government, things just do not look good for America.
The American leaders I would say until certain extend make certain decisions due to the BENEFIT of their country. For instance, the 9/11 was not about Osama bin Laden or terrorism; it was all because of natural resources that the country had. However, with President Barack Obama taking the lead of the country, everyone is hoping for the better. Let us wait…

  10. America will always dominate the world because America has power to control the world but now the facing crisis. And belief they can solve their problem with their new president.

  11. American’s they will always have hidden agenda , the work that they do is always who will benefit who for example : a conspiracy to establish an American empire and rule the world.

The elite men in control are now so certain of their absolute power that they no longer conceal their plan for the New World Order.

The insiders behind US government policy, including Vice-President Dick Cheney, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, have openly declared their bold vision for “American world leadership”, a “global leadership” controlled by the White House.

    NEW WORLD ORDER

Every intelligent adult on the planet should read the material published by The Project for the New American Century. These documents reveal the true factors shaping the world, at this time, for all to see. The PNAC is literally an “organization whose goal is to promote American global leadership”.

The PNAC, which helps the US President decide official policy, openly speaks of America’s “new order”, which is also referred to as the “New World Order”. The New World Order is heralded by the Latin motto “Novus Ordo Seclorum,” meaning “a New Order of the Ages,” which is enscribed on the reverse of the Great Seal of the United States and printed on the back of every one-dollar-bill.

PNAC calls upon Americans throughout the world to “embrace the cause of American leadership” as the US government creates “an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles”.

The events of September 11th are being used to manipulate public emotion, using people’s grief, anger, and fear, to guarantee American support for the NWO, and “to launch a new era of American internationalism.”

    OLD EUROPE

The PNAC is openly unfriendly toward Europe. They admit that the Bush administration “was hostile to the new Europe” from the beginning. The organisation boasts: “American leaders should realize that they are hardly constrained at all, that Europe is not really capable of constraining the United States” because “Americans are powerful enough that they need not fear Europeans”. America has realised that “Europe has been militarily weak for a long time, but until fairly recently its weakness had been obscured.”

The organisation for the new American era bluntly criticises the pursuit of peace by European nations as “weakness”. They give the American people full credit for constructing the new Europe after World War II, acknowledging that “the Europe of today is very much the product of American foreign policy”. But the almighty US government has no further need for its old European allies.

“Can the United States handle the rest of the world
without much help from Europe? The answer is that
    it already does.”

The British Council, a think-tank closely linked to the UK government’s Foreign Policy Centre, is calling for the British government to retaliate and give the US government a “bloody nose”.

    CONFLICT ON THE HORIZON

Each step in the US government’s agenda causes increasing friction between the New World embodied by America and “old Europe”. In America’s eyes, the reason why Europeans disapproves of American aggression against other nations is because: “Europes military weakness has produced a perfectly understandable aversion to the exercise of military power.”

“Given that the United States is unlikely to reduce
its power and that Europe is unlikely to increase
more than marginally its own power or the will to
use what power it has, the future seems certain to
be one of increased transatlantic tension.”

Despite diverging policy, PNAC appreciates that Europe is essential to the events that will unfold during this century. Because America has become so powerful, “Europe must amass power, but for no other reason than to save the world”.

As transatlantic tensions continue to escalate conflict is inevitable, and only the strongest side can prevail.

  12. Similarly some devoted adherents of many different ideologies, such as anarchism, democracy, communism (especially Trotskyism), Nazism, neo-conservatism, social democracy, certain conceptions of capitalism, liberalism or libertarianism view their credo as the ideal form of societal organization, and actively encourage its implementation throughout the world. The period of the Cold War in particular was seen as a period of intense ideological polarization across the globe, with supporters of the two rival camps expressing hope that their ideology would emerge triumphant over the other and become the pre-eminent form of government worldwide. Elements within the allied blocs led by the Soviet Union and the United States accused each other of having objectives of global domination. By some standards the United States was triumphant, and in holding the global position of super-power can perhaps be seen as having achieved world domination although only over a single decaying foe just through pure endurance.

  13. In my opinion, American will still dominating the world. Although they are having financial crisis now, but with the background and their foundation, It is not impossible that they can still dominate the world. Furthermore, with the come in of their new president. He is a clever man. Lets see what can him come out with a plan to save America and continue dominate the world.

  14. United States of America have been so consistently successful in their military and economic conflicts with other nations because they have a very strong Imperial Strategy. In 1982, Oded Yinon, an Israeli journalist outlined the “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s.”

“The dissolution of Syria and Iraq into ethnically or religiously unique areas such as in Lebanon is Israel’s primary target on the Eastern front. Iraq, rich in oil on the one hand and internally torn on the other is guaranteed as a candidate for Israel’s targets. Its dissolution is even more important for us than that of Syria. Iraq is stronger than Syria. In the short run, it is Iraqi power which constitutes the greatest threat to Israel.” He continued, “An Iraqi-Iranian war will tear Iraq apart and cause its downfall at home even before it is able to organize a struggle on a wide front against us. Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation will assist us in the short run and will shorten the way to the more important aim of breaking up Iraq into denominations as in Syria and Lebanon.” He continues, “In Iraq, a division into provinces along ethnic/religious lines as in Syria during Ottoman times is possible. So, three (or more) states will exist around the three major cities: Basra, Baghdad and Mosul and Shiite areas in the South will separate from the Sunni and Kurdish north.”[2]

The Iran-Iraq War, which lasted until 1988, did not result in Oded Yinon’s desired break-up of Iraq into ethnically based provinces. Nor did the subsequent Gulf War of 1991 in which the US destroyed Iraq’s infrastructure, as well as the following decade-plus of devastating sanctions and aerial bombardments by the Clinton administration. What did occur during these decades, however, were the deaths of millions of Iraqis and Iranians.

Nevertheless,I would say that America would do anything to control the world economy basically by attacking but I hope there would be a change after the new elected President of America,Barack Obama.Bradia, if I would talk about freedom,FREEDOM is PEACE not ENJOYING or do whatever we wants!!!!

  15. Gone are the days when the US could go into debt with abandon, without considering who would end up footing the bill. And gone are the days when it could impose its economic rules of engagement on the rest of the world, rules that emphasized profit above all else — without ever considering that such returns cannot be achieved by doing business in a respectable way.

With its rule of three of cheap money, free markets and double-digit profit margins, American turbo-capitalism has set economic standards worldwide for the past quarter century. Now it is proving to be nothing but a giant snowball system, upsetting the US’s global political status as it comes crashing down. Every bank that US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is currently forced to bail out with American government funds damages America’s reputation around the world.

Of course, it is not solely the result of undesirable economic developments that the United States is in the process of forfeiting its unique position in the world and that the world is moving toward what Fareed Zakaria, editor of Newsweek International, calls a “post-American age.” Washington has also lost much of its political ability to impose its will on other countries.

  16. The United States of America has been occasionally referred to as The American Empire to emphasize the great power and influence of the United States in the world both economically, with its extensive business investments around the world, and militarily with its extensive system of alliances, ostensibly to defend global trade, freedom, and democracy. The origin of the “American Empire” in concept is possibly traced back to 1898, in the aftermath of the Spanish American War.Others date its formation to 12 July 1947 with the signing of the National Security Act of 1947 by President Harry S Truman.Truman then organized the Rio Pact on 2 September 1947, NATO on 4 April 1949, and ANZUS on 1 September 1951, thus uniting many non-communist nations into a single Western Alliance to implement the policy of containment in order to prevent the expansion of the Soviet Union, both in territory and influence.A primary goal of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and his Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, was to create a Pax Americana in the American sphere of influence. In his final speech in 1960 before leaving office, Eisenhower warned against allowing the military-industrial complex to gain too much power. In the aftermath of the Cold War, critics of American foreign policy have argued that the United States seeks, or indeed actually has, global hegemony. On September 11, 1990, the President of the United States, George H.W. Bush gave his famous speech, Toward a New World Order to a joint session of the United States Congress. On September 20, 2002, the George W. Bush White House posted on its website the full text of the (at that time) newest National Security Strategy of the United States, composed primarily by prominent neo-conservative Paul Wolfowitz. The Bush Doctrine was first put into use on March 20, 2003 when the Bush Administration launched the United States into war with Iraq.

  17. The apocalyptic imagination has spawned a new kind of violence at the beginning of the twenty-first century. We can, in fact, speak of a worldwide epidemic of violence aimed at massive destruction in the service of various visions of purification and renewal. In particular, we are experiencing what could be called an apocalyptic face-off between Islamist forces, overtly visionary in their willingness to kill and die for their religion, and American forces claiming to be restrained and reasonable but no less visionary in their projection of a cleansing warmaking and military power. Both sides are energized by versions of intense idealism; both see themselves as embarked on a mission of combating evil in order to redeem and renew the world; and both are ready to release untold levels of violence to achieve that purpose.
The war on Iraq–a country with longstanding aspirations toward weapons of mass destruction but with no evident stockpiles of them and no apparent connection to the assaults of September 11–was a manifestation of that American visionary projection.
The religious fanaticism of Osama bin Laden and other Islamist zealots has, by now, a certain familiarity to us as to others elsewhere, for their violent demands for spiritual purification are aimed as much at fellow Muslims as at American “infidels.” Their fierce attacks on the defilement that they believe they see everywhere in contemporary life resemble those of past movements and sects from all parts of the world; such sects, with end-of-the-world prophecies and programmatic violence in the service of bringing those prophecies about, flourished in Europe from the eleventh through the sixteenth centuries. Similar sects like the fanatical Japanese cult Aum Shinrikyo, which released sarin gas into the Tokyo subways in 1995, have existed, even proliferated, in our own time.
